The Standard Penetration test (SPT) is a common in situ testing method used to determine the geotechnical engineering properties of subsurface soils. It is a simple and inexpensive test to estimate the relative density of soils and approximate shear strength parameters.
The Eureka SPT Drill is a drilling tool for mini tractors. Designed by experienced drillers and engineered by Eureka. The mast carries a hammer with a mass of 63.5 kg (140 lb) which can fall through a distance of 760 mm (30 in). The drill rig will be stabilized by the vehicle and when necessary 2 hydraulic outriggers can be used for extra stabilization. The ESPT-50 will be powered by the internal tractor hydraulics and the back PTO of the vehicle. It is a safe and quick way to drill.
